For more than 25 years, Sandra L. Schpoont has concentrated on family law matters. A co-founder of Schpoont & Cavallo, LLP, she specializes in all areas of family and matrimonial law, with a particular emphasis on child custody proceedings. Ms. Schpoont’s wide ranging experience includes many years representing children in the Juvenile Rights Division of The Legal Aid Society, which prepared her for litigating highly contested proceedings in Supreme Court. She is certified in the Appellate Division’s First Department as an attorney for children, which makes her uniquely qualified to represent parents in custody disputes. Ms. Schpoont also has broad experience in the negotiation and drafting of pre- and post-nuptial agreements and property settlement agreements. Ms. Schpoont is a member of the New York State Bar Association Family Law Section, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, having served on its Matrimonial Committee, the Family Law Section of the Brooklyn Bar Association, The Brooklyn Women’s Bar Association and is a member of the Interdisciplinary Forum on Mental Health and the Law. Ms. Schpoont graduated from the University of Michigan and received her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law.
