verdicts. From 1979, when Don obtained Illinois’ then highest
legal malpractice verdict, to when he won Wisconsin’s largest
medical malpractice verdict in 1988 ($24.7 million); from
the 2004 $9.6 million verdict for a police shooting, to his
2006 $24.7 million medical malpractice verdict that quadrupled
Kane County’s previous record and to his 2009 $6.7 million
record wrongful death verdict in Macon County (affirmed in
2011); Don Shapiro has consistently raised the bar for excellence.
His quick mind, attention to detail, and ability to relate to jurors
have keyed Don’s success. A University of Chicago Law School
graduate and a former instructor at Chicago-Kent College of
Law, Don heads his own firm.
