Tom Regan devotes his practice to representing businesses
and individuals in tax controversies and in tax litigation with
the Internal Revenue Service and the Minnesota Department
of Revenue. He has more than 25 years of experience
representing taxpayers in matters ranging from tax audits,
appeals, administrative claims, and tax collection to litigation
in the United States Tax Court, United States Court of Federal
Claims, United States District Court, and Minnesota Tax Court.
Tom is one of the few Minnesota attorneys with such depth
and breadth of experience with the IRS and the Minnesota
Department of Revenue. Tom is a member and past Chair of the
Tax Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association.
Kathryn Hipp Carlson is a founding partner of Hipp Carlson,
PLLC and a 1993 cum laude graduate of the University of
Minnesota Law School. Her practice focuses primarily on
workers’ compensation litigation, representing both injured
workers and self-insured employers. Her expertise and success
at both the trial and appellate court levels allow her to be a
frequent speaker and author on workers’ compensation issues.
She is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell, indicating the highest
level of competence and ethics. Ms. Carlson is a member of
Minnesota Women Lawyers and the Minnesota Trial Lawyers
Association, is on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota
Youth Athletic Services, and also dedicates time to several pro
bono cases.
Jerry graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota
and received his law degree from DePaul University in Chicago,
Illinois. He spent four years as a litigator for a Chicago law
firm. Since returning to Minnesota in 1983, he has practiced
in the area of workers’ compensation law. Initially, he was a
defense lawyer for an insurance company and then switched
to representing injured workers. He devotes 100 percent of
his practice to plaintiffs’ workers’ compensation cases. Jerry
assists clients from all over the state with the help of a very
experienced and knowledgeable staff. When injured workers
have questions about their rights or benefits, Jerry has answers.
Practicing solely in the area of workers’ compensation enables
Jerry and his staff to keep on top of the many changes in this
complex area of law.
