PATRICK A. MULLIN ATTORNEY AT LAW
When Everything
Is On The Line
High-Stakes Complex Criminal and Tax Defense
Patrick A. Mullin is the powerhouse criminal defense and
tax defense attorney who clients trust when everything is
on the line. An accomplished martial artist with black belt
rankings achieved in both Japanese and Okinawan karate,
Mullin brings an unrelenting drive to enforce the rights of
his clients and secure justice.
Mullin has staffed his boutique law firm with attorneys from
the top-ranked NYU Master of Law in Taxation program
as well as with former Law Review editors, each of whom is
equally tenacious in safeguarding client’s rights. Offices are
located at Parker Plaza in Fort Lee, Rockefeller Center in
New York and Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C.
Three Decades of Tour De Force Client Representation
Mullin has established a track record of continued tour de force
client representation in complex criminal and tax defense matters
over the course of three decades, including presenting oral
argument before the United States Supreme Court in a major
federal criminal case. Among his achievements, Mullin served
for 15 years on the United States Sentencing Commission’s
Practitioners Advisory Group, was honored as a Special Student
in the Harvard Law School Graduate Program, earned a Master
of Law in Taxation from New York University’s School of Law and
served on the faculty of Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College.
In the course of his exemplary 30-year career, Mullin has
defended associates of former Mexican President Salinas de
Gortari, United States senatorial candidate James Treffinger
and financier Martin Frankel in highly visible matters. Among
other notable cases, Mullin:
• Achieved a full acquittal on all 10 federal charges for
a physician charged with illegally dispensing narcotics,
marking the first reported major defeat for the
prosecuting government unit.
• Secured very rare nolle prosequi dismissals of indicted
federal criminal defendants, inclusive of a six count
procurement fraud indictment against a defense
contractor, in exchange for a single count corporate
entity plea, as well as a full post-indictment dismissal of
drug conspiracy charges brought against a priest.
• Successfully obtained federal appeal rulings overturning
a currency structuring conviction, a money laundering
sentence and a probation violation sentence.
• Repeatedly safeguarded high-level targets of federal
criminal investigations as well as taxpayers engaged in
IRS egg shell audits.
Legal Commentary and Analysis in the Media
Mullin is frequently called on by the national media to provide
legal commentary and analysis on prominent criminal cases
in the news. These cases include the investigation into Michael
Jackson’s death; the investigation, indictment, trial and sentencing
of Barry Bonds; the sentencing of Michael Vick; as well as the
federal prosecutions of other notable defendants including Roger
Clemens, Marion Jones, Trevor Graham and Tammy Thomas.
