In 2017, Walkup lawyers continue to be recognized as the gold standard
in the field of plaintiff’s tort litigation. Whether succeeding in trial or
prevailing in mediation or settlement negotiations, the firm’s attorneys
are at the forefront of the fight for consumer rights, patients’ rights,
civil rights and corporate accountability. Our lawyers have achieved
remarkable trial and settlement results in the areas of products
liability, catastrophic injury, medical negligence, wrongful death, police
misconduct, Kaiser Health Plan arbitrations, defective medical devices
and dangerous pharmaceuticals. We are acknowledged as a top-tier
firm nationally and locally by U.S. News - Best Lawyers.
In the past 12 months, our products liability lawyers collaborated on the
Dallas trial that resulted in a $1 billion verdict on behalf of six California
plaintiffs for injuries caused by the defective Pinnacle® hip implant; our
transportation team obtained a multimillion-dollar jury verdict in San
Francisco Superior Court against the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and
Transportation District; and our automobile liability lawyers made seven-figure recoveries against Uber, Lyft and other ride-sharing providers.
We are deeply involved in community affairs. We support WalkSF and
its Vision Zero goal, and several bay area bicycle coalitions. We also
provide financial contributions to numerous nonprofit associations,
including the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the
Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, and our attorneys
teach and lecture at many law institutions throughout California.
Every one of our partners is acknowledged on the Super Lawyers
list and regarded by opposing counsel, corporate defendants and
major insurers as relentless, well-prepared and honest adversaries.
Because we work on contingency fees, our clients can afford us—if
we are not successful, our clients pay no fees.
