OUR LAWYERS WON'T STOP UNTIL JUSTICE IS SERVED
Douglas & London, P.C. is a New York City-based law firm that advocates
for those harmed by others. Firm founders Michael A. London and Gary J.
Douglas have achieved justice for their clients against some of the largest
companies in the world, and the 13-lawyer law firm remains committed to
fighting for the underdog.
Among the firm’s pioneering verdicts and settlements, it achieved the first
verdict in New York against the tobacco industry, one of the first verdicts in
the country for a defective airbag against the automobile industry, a $690
million settlement against Eli Lilly & Company for injuries caused by the
atypical anti-psychotic medication Zyprexa, and the first successful verdict in
the country against Merck for injuries caused by the drug Fosamax.
In addition to these past successes, the firm has achieved the following results
in the last three years:
• More than $1.9 billion recovered against Bayer for women injured
by the birth control pills Yaz and Yasmin, where London served as
co-lead counsel for all plaintiffs, and Douglas was designated as
one of the lead trial attorneys for the first trial
• $9 billion verdict and $2.4 billion settlement against Takeda
Pharmaceuticals for injuries caused by the drug Actos, in which firm partner
Stephanie O'Connor served on the court-appointed executive committee
for plaintiffs and played a crucial role at trial in assisting to secure the verdict
• $650 million settlement against Boehringer Ingelheim for injuries
caused by the drug Pradaxa, where London served as co-lead
counsel for all plaintiffs, and Douglas was designated as the lead
trial attorney for the first trial
Douglas & London has played a critical role in shaping some of the largest
and most complex mass tort and class action cases in recent years with
the firm obtaining justice for their clients against some of the largest
companies in the world. “We stand up to corporate giants and negligent
individuals,” says Douglas. “We have taken on the tobacco, automobile
and pharmaceutical industries. Our team is driven by the tireless pursuit of
success and results.”
In addition to the above practice areas, the firm continues to represent
victims of medical malpractice and general negligence matters in single-
event injury and damage cases, where in the past year alone, the firm
secured 8 seven-figure settlements or verdicts, and 21 six-figure settlements
or verdicts on behalf of its single-event (non-mass tort) clients.
Douglas & London is proud to announce that Virginia E. Anello and Robin J.
Bond have been named to the Rising Stars list. Anello’s practice at the firm
focuses on consumer class actions, defective orthopedic medical devices
and vaccine litigation. Bond’s practice at the firm focuses on single-event
negligence cases in New York and New Jersey. Additionally, firm partners
O'Connor and Douglas have again been named to the Super Lawyers list.
“Our practice won't stop until justice is served,” says London. “We
love what we do. We are a dedicated firm that believes in helping
people. Our clients come first.”
