With this issue, we are pleased to present a redesigned
Super Lawyers Magazine.
We’ve kept the things you love—such as compelling attorney
profiles—and expanded the editorial lineup. You’ll find quick reads
in the front of the magazine and new design elements that give
the publication a fresh look.
How do we choose which lawyers to write about? First, the
attorneys must be selected to the current year’s Super Lawyers
list. Then we factor in which firms and practice areas we’ve
recently covered—we don’t want to play favorites or ignore
We aim for diversity in region, practice area, gender, ethnicity.
Attorneys ranking near the top of the list are more likely to appear
on the cover. And of course, the story itself is crucial.
The one thing that isn’t a factor? Advertising. As with the Super
Lawyers list, editorial is never for sale, and our editorial team has
won more than 15 journalism awards around the country.
In this issue, Marcia Goldstein talks about classic uses of Chapter
11, Ross J. Charap reveals the secret origin of Captain America, and
13 former clerks to the U.S. Supreme Court tell us about being at
the center of American law. Raoul Felder opens the doors to his
famously cluttered office, Jonathan Mechanic takes us on a spin
through the city, and Loren Plotkin and Nancy Rose, the lawyers of
Hamilton, give us a glimpse into the room where it happened.
Thank you for reading. We look forward to your feedback.
