Overton Risoleo says she’s “still plugging
away. … I’m just completing the defense of a
large class action against Maricopa County
Community Colleges District—there was
a [data] breach at the colleges.” Overton
Risoleo says they’re in the process of reaching
a final settlement in the case.
The Arizona Justice Project—of which
Hammond is president, and helped found—
has “continued to flourish,” he says, freeing 24
wrongfully convicted inmates over the past few
years. The project is leveraging its credibility
to discuss criminal justice policy reforms with
decision-makers and prosecutors.
“After 45 years of running as fast as I could,
I’m trying to relax a little bit now,” Ryan says.
Though he’s been doing some consulting and
is wrapping up a number of pro bono cases,
Ryan adds, “I’m just trying to spend more
time with family and relax, and enjoy not
having to do anything specific every day.”
