CRIMINAL DEFENSE
Lenell Nussbaum represents individuals in criminal investigations,
trials, and appeals in state and federal courts. She is counsel
of record in more than 60 published appellate opinions. The
Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers presented
her with its William O. Douglas Award for extraordinary courage
and dedication to the practice of criminal law. She recently
lectured on the United States Constitution at a law school
in Russia. She serves as a Justice on the Suquamish Tribal
Appeals Court. She has testified before the legislature and
frequently teaches seminars on criminal law topics. She is a past
President of WACDL, a founding member of the Washington
Appellate Lawyers Association, and a member of the Washington
Sentencing Guidelines Commission. She graduated in 1980 from
the University of Michigan Law School.

Bob Chadwell’s law practice focuses on federal white collar
criminal defense such as government program fraud, securities
fraud, and environmental offenses. He has represented individuals
and corporations in the criminal arena, with clients ranging from
an oil company executive in an environmental investigation (no
charges were filed), a prominent stockbroker charged with tax
fraud (who was acquitted at trial), an international construction
company in a government contracting fraud investigation (no
charges were filed), and an Internet-based company involved
in the sale of unregistered securities (case was resolved without
criminal charges against the company by a unique settlement
with regulators). Bob is a member of the Board of Trustees for
the UW Physicians.

Mark W. Prothero is a partner with the Kent firm of Hanis Irvine

Jeffrey B. Coopersmith, a partner in DLA Piper’s Seattle office,
