& SELECTION PROCESS
In this issue of Super Lawyers Business
Edition, we feature attorneys who are
outstanding in their areas of business
practice. The attorneys included were
selected to the 2011 Super Lawyers list in
business-related practice areas that are
divided into five distinct practice groups:
litigation; employment; construction, real
estate and environmental; business and
transactions; and intellectual property.
In addition to a listing of attorneys, we
also feature a top law firm section for
each practice group, highlighting firms
in four sizes: solo, small, medium and
large. These firms were chosen based on
the number of attorneys within the firm
who were listed in 2011 Super Lawyers
in business practice areas, in addition
to a combination of metrics indicating
the quality of those attorneys, including:
the number of years selected to the list,
inclusion on a top list and their average
blue ribbon panel scores.
Super Lawyers selects attorneys using a
rigorous, multistage process in which peer
nominations and evaluations are combined
with our independent research:
NOMINATIONS
Each year, we invite lawyers to nominate
the top attorneys they've personally
observed in action. Our attorney-led
research staff also searches for lawyers who
have attained certain honors or results.
The selection of attorneys to the Super
Lawyers list is a rigorous process, as

EVALUATION OF THE CANDIDATE POOL
Our researchers evaluate candidates by 12
indicators of peer recognition and
professional achievement. Research
evaluations are based on information
from a variety of online and database
sources including law firm websites, legal
publications and information supplied to
us by lawyers at my.superlawyers.com.
Note: The list was finalized as of July 27, 2012. Any
updates to the list (for example, status changes or
disqualifying events) will be reflected on superla wyers.com.
